Who is a pediatric SLP?
Armed with either a bachelor or master’s degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (ASLP), a pediatric SLP has exclusively practiced with children and has gathered experience and expertise in the field. Pediatric SLP can assess, diagnose and treat/rehabilitate an array of childhood speech and language disorders like delayed speech and language, childhood apraxia of speech, phonological processes, emerging and established Learning Disability, stuttering, behavioral issues and more. Other diagnoses include but are not restricted to Intellectual disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive disorder, Dysphagia, Semantic Pragmatic Disorders. Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) in India are licensed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
The life span that SLP caters to….
Well, almost the entire lifespan. SLPs are experienced to asses, diagnose and treat/ rehabilitate various speech, language and swallowing issues that arise due to traumatic brain injuries (like motor vehicle or heavy industry accidents) as well as cancers (of the larynx, tongue, thryroid, brain, cerebellum, brainstem, auditory nerve) and cardiovascular incidents (stroke) and degenerative diseases (like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s).

Even though the website name has the word pediatric, we are looking to expand the knowledge of all practicing SLPs. Hence we are incorporating topics related to adult speech-language-swallowing rehabilitation as well.
