About This Course
Speakers: ASLP Debosmita Gupte, Pediatric SLP/Speech Therapist, Dr. Sumedha Purandare, Pediatric Occupational Therapist/OT
For: Parents, SLPs and OTs
Toilet Training is the single most important skill that children require for independence. However it is not a single skill, but constitutes a collection of many skills. From the OT view point the mastery of certain skills are as important as the development and preparation of the body. That when aided with appropriate language techniques and visual support, the child recognizes the need to toilet and then develops toilet training a consistent skill.
Using only visuals is not the correct method to train and is likely to fail, unless adequately supported. This comprehensive talk helps both therapists (SLP & OT) and Parents to establish the understanding of how different skills work together and are essential.
